Expect Wonderful

Dar Haag gave me a very interesting article right before Reno contest entitled "Expect Wonderful." The idea was and is right up my alley!  I appreciate all the informative articles that have been sent to me by SVC members. ALL info that makes me think, ponder, and maybe change the way I look at life, is valuable. I would hate to think that I know everything I need to know to move into whatever lies ahead of me in life.

Expect wonderful....that's the way I feel about our future. I have already started visualizing the preparation we need, the amount and kind of performance opportunities we need, the new members we need, the money we need. Thank heavens, we don't need it all today or tomorrow!! We have time as long as we use our time wisely starting right now.  As in right now - our GUEST NIGHT!!! Will we havwe guests?  Need guests to get members. This has to be a priority this year.

"Expect Wonderful," the article by Ailia Mira, has several points that I will continue to embrace as we move forward. I do not want to lose sight of the very bright light at the end of this 16 month, very exciting tunnel we are entering.

"Anything we pay attention to, we are tuning ourselves to." Nourishing our mind, our consciousness, with uplifting, positive thought is powerful..

"I love my mind."  The ability to FOCUS is so very important! We will focus on that which will move us forward as a loving chorus.

"I love feeling good."  This refers to the happiness that we decide to feel - or not.  Personal negativity will breed unhappiness.  To learn and grow, we must find and keep our personal happiness.

"I love knowing that I create how I feel."  Ah yes - we do get to decide where to put our focus. We decide to whom we rent space in our brain. If you listen to and believe negative thought, will you feel positive? Hang with positive friends. We each need friends who believe in positivity as much as we do. We need people who look at what we do each week and find awe and appreciation.

I have always thought that a person cannot sing unless there is love and positivity in their heart and brain. I believed this when I taught the kindergarteners, the grade schoolers, the middle schoolers, the high schoolers, the adults, the men and the women, People need to feel the love (as corny as it sounds) in order to feel the emotion of the music and lyrics and send it out to the audience. We are mechanical singers if we do not feel the music in our own hearts.

My greatest desire for our coming journey is that we focus on what is important in the most positive fashion. I hope we celebrate each small and large victory along the way, celebrate each new member, celebrate each laugh and every tear. I hope we focus on vocal education and help each other find the very best voice possible. Sixteen months of repeated positive and empowering thoughts and actions will support SVC in NOLA!!! Every Wednesday is part of our wonderful future - we build each week and expect wonderful!

Fun ahead. Congratulations. SVC - winners all. xo Dede
